Lagos State Peace and Security Management Course

Objectives

  • Identify and analyse management challenges within Lagos’s security sector and propose practical solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic security sector plans, while effectively communicating and assessing their implications across state, regional, and national frameworks.
  • Evaluate Lagos’s strategic location in Nigeria’s economy, interagency coordination mechanisms, collective security arrangements, and perspectives from both public and private sectors.
  • Train and mentor policymakers, administrators, and managers on addressing diverse security issues and applying implementation strategies that determine policy success or failure.
  • Assess and recommend approaches to resource allocation, internal revenue generation, and poverty alleviation schemes relevant to Lagos State.
  • Critically examine complex multi-agency relationships and propose strategies for improved collaboration.
  • Understand and appraise existing peacebuilding and intervention models, while identifying opportunities for innovation and change.
