ACG Sunday James is an Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service. He has been involved in discussions about border security and migration management, particularly in the Northeast region of Nigeria. In a recent interview, he highlighted the challenges of securing Nigeria's extensive borders, which span about 4,047 kilometers, and the importance of using technology to enhance border security. He emphasized the need for real-time information sharing among security agencies and neighboring countries to effectively manage migration and security issues.

IGP Usan Baba Alkali (Rtd)

Usman Alkali Baba is a prominent figure in Nigeria, having served as the 21st Inspector General of Police (IGP) from April 2021 until his retirement. Born on March 1, 1963, in Geidam, Yobe State, Nigeria.

He holds a Teacher's Grade II Certificate from Teachers College, Potiskum. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bayero University Kano in 1985 and later earned a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri in 1997. Alkali enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force on March 15, 1988. He rose through the ranks, serving in various capacities including as Commissioner of Police in Delta State and Assistant Inspector General of Police in different zones. He was appointed as the IGP by President Muhammadu Buhari on April 6, 2021, replacing Mohammed Adamu.

During his tenure, he focused on intelligence-led policing and introduced reforms aimed at enhancing internal security and restoring police primacy in Nigeria.

In November 2022, he was sentenced to prison for contempt of court over the non-reinstatement of an officer, though the specifics of enforcement were unclear. In May 2023, a court ruled that his stay in office was unconstitutional due to exceeding the retirement age.He officially retired after 35 years of service, with IGP Kayode Egbetokun succeeding him.

He was conferred with the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) in October 2022.He received the Best Anti-Crime Security Chief award and the Inspector-General of Police’s Letter of Commendation for his leadership in crime fighting.

Prof Oshita Oshita

Prof. Oshita O. Oshita is a renowned figure in peace and conflict resolution, with a distinguished career spanning academia, research, and civil society. Here are key highlights about him He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Political Philosophy from the University of Calabar, a Master of Arts in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Bradford, and a PhD in Philosophy of Social Science from the University of Ibadan.

He is a Fellow of the Society of Peace Studies and Practice (FSPSP) and a distinguished Ambassador for Peace of the UN POLAC Peace Programme. Director General of IPCR: Prof. Oshita served as the Director General/CEO of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) in Abuja, Nigeria, from 2014 to 2018. During his tenure, he was involved in programming for violence-free elections and worked with the National Peace Committee for the 2015 general elections.

Ubuntu Centre for Africa Peacebuilding and Development: He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Ubuntu Centre for Africa Peacebuilding and Development (UCAP), a position he has held since January 2019. Consultancy and Teaching Experience: Prof. Oshita has consulted for various international organizations, including UN agencies, ECOWAS, USAID, and Humanitarian Dialogue. He has also taught in several institutions in Nigeria and abroad.

Prof. Oshita is skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, nonprofit organizations, program evaluation, public speaking, international relations, and conflict-sensitive planning.

He has published works both locally and internationally on peace and conflict studies.

Hajia Saudatu Mahdi

Hajia Saudatu Mahdi is a prominent Nigerian women's rights advocate, born on April 20, 1957, in Katsina State, Nigeria. She serves as the Secretary-General of the Women's Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA), a position that allows her to focus on critical issues such as gender-based violence, women's access to education, and socio-economic empowerment.

Mahdi began her education at Kaduna Central Primary School and later attended Queen Amina College in Kaduna. She earned her first degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1978, and completed a postgraduate program at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in 1992. She holds several certificates in fields like entrepreneurship, fiscal management, and human rights.

Mahdi started her career as a classroom teacher and later became the principal of the Government Girls Secondary School in Bauchi. She served as the Acting Registrar of the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, from 1995 to 1998 before retiring to focus on advocacy.

Mahdi has been instrumental in several high-profile cases, including the acquittal of Amina Lawal Kurami and Safiyatu Hussaini, who were both sentenced to death under Sharia law for adultery. She is also a co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, advocating for the return of kidnapped schoolgirls in Nigeria. Mahdi has published over 20 books on topics related to women's rights and violence against women. Her leadership has been recognized with the National Honours Award Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2011 for her contributions to development, advocacy, and human rights.

Currently, Mahdi continues to lead WRAPA, providing strategic leadership and overseeing its operations. She remains a vocal advocate for gender equality and women's rights in Nigeria.

Major General Ishola Williams (rtd) is a retired Nigerian Army General who is known for his views on national issues and his stance against corruption. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended primary and secondary schools in Lagos, including King's College, where he graduated in 1962. Joined the Army in 1964. He rose through the ranks to become the commandant of Army Signals, served as Commander of Training and Doctrine (TRADOC), the think-tank of the Nigerian Army. Also served as Chief of Defence Training and Planning and resigned from the Army in July 1993, because he believed that the military takeover that brought Abacha in was immoral.

Christopher Delvan Gwamna Ajiyat, born on December 12, 1960, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and pastor. He is the presiding pastor of The King of All Kings Church of the Capstone, formerly New Life Pastoral Centre (New Life Assembly), based in Kaduna, Nigeria. Additionally, he oversees ministerial arms such as Arewa Christian Initiative, House of Jeduthun, Metahost Partnerships, and Pisgah Media. Some sources also refer to him as the founder of Chris Delvan Gwamna Ministries. Chris Delvan is a well-known Christian musician in Nigeria, with a long career in the Christian music scene. His music features soulful melodies, stirring lyrics, and a mix of traditional and modern sounds. He uses his music to spread messages of love, hope, and optimism, drawing inspiration from his faith.

Gwamna has traveled to many parts of the world and has been featured in programs such as the inter-denominational carnival of praise and worship held in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. He was also one of the officiating ministers at the Men of Issachar Vision's conference, led by the former Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, in Ibadan in January 2017. In 2018, YNaija listed him as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Christian Ministry in Nigeria. Gwamna contributed to the Hausa language translation of the Revised Standard Version for the Bible League of the United States of America, completing the project in 20031. The Institute of Management and Commerce of Nigeria (IMCCN) awarded Gwamna the Fellow's Investiture and Icon of Mentorship Award on April 26, 2017, in recognition of his "spiritual leadership, guidance, and dedication to humanity.

Bamidele Shafa is a Major General in the Nigerian Army and the Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor (OPSC). OPSC is a program established by the Nigerian military in 2016 with the goal of deradicalizing, rehabilitating, and reintegrating repentant Boko Haram members back into society. Shafa is from Imeko in Ogun State, Nigeria. He is the OPSC coordinator since 2016. He has been involved in efforts to encourage Boko Haram members to leave the group. According to Shafa, some Boko Haram members are Christians.

Under Shafa's leadership, OPSC has graduated hundreds of ex-Boko Haram combatants. By August 2020, over 600 ex-fighters had graduated from the 16-week OPSC course, and approximately 90 child soldiers had been transferred to a separate program run by international organizations. As of February 2020, around 2,000 men were enrolled or being prepared for the course. Shafa has stressed the importance of collaboration to address security challenges in Nigeria. He has also stated that no repentant insurgents are qualified to be recruited into the Nigerian Army, contrary to some speculations

Muhammed Babandede born in Jigawa State, Nigeria in 1963 is a former Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, before his appointment by President Mohammadu Buhari, he was the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) of NIS, Operations & Passports.

Babandede holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Islamic Studies, he has master's degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaria. He served as Assistant Comptroller General ACG passport at the Immigration Headquarters. His appointment came after President Mohammadu Buhari sacked the former Immigration boss Martin Abeshi. Babandede has an award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR, in 2014. He is currently the longest service NIS top officer.

Father Michael Lapsley

Alan Michael Lapsley, SSM (born 2 June 1949), known as Father Michael Lapsley, is a South African Anglican priest and social justice activist. Lapsley was born 2 June 1949 in New Zealand.

He was ordained to the priesthood in Australia where he joined the religious order the Society of the Sacred Mission (SSM). In 1973 he arrived in Durban, South Africa, as an undergraduate student. Soon thereafter, during the height of apartheid repression, he became chaplain to students at both black and white universities in Durban. In 1976, he began to speak out on behalf of school children who were being shot, detained and tortured. After a police raid in Maseru in 1982 in which 42 people were killed, he moved to Zimbabwe. It was here that in 1990, three months after ANC leader Nelson Mandela's release from prison, he was sent a letter bomb by the Civil Cooperation Bureau, a covert outfit of the apartheid security forces. It was hidden inside two religious magazines. He lost both hands and the sight in one eye in the blast, and was seriously burnt.

In 1993, he became Chaplain of the Trauma Centre for Victims of Violence and Torture in Cape Town, which assisted the country's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). This work led to the establishment, in 1998, of the Institute for Healing of Memories (IHOM) in Cape Town. The IHOM aims to allow many more South Africans to tell their stories in workshops where they work through their trauma.

Osisioma Basil Chinedu Nwolise, commonly referred to as Prof. OBC Nwolise, is a prominent Nigerian political scientist and academic. Born on January 25, 1951, he has had a distinguished career in academia, particularly at the University of Ibadan, where he served for 38 years before retiring in 2020. Nwolise obtained his first degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and later pursued advanced studies that culminated in his academic career in political science.

Throughout his tenure at the University of Ibadan, Nwolise held various positions, including lecturer and professor in the Department of Political Science. He is known for his unique approach to the study of security and politics, emphasizing the importance of spirituality in understanding human and national security. His advocacy for integrating spiritual dimensions into political discourse has sparked both interest and debate within academic circles.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Nwolise has supervised numerous Ph.D. students and contributed significantly to research in his field. He has published various works focusing on security studies, political theory, and the intersection of spirituality and politics. Beyond academia, Prof. Nwolise is recognized as an activist and public affairs analyst, often engaging in discussions about social justice and equity within Nigeria. His insights into the political landscape have made him a respected voice in national debates. Despite retiring from formal academic duties, he remains active in promoting his views on spirituality's role in governance and security, continuing to influence both scholars and practitioners in Nigeria and beyond. Prof. CBN Ogbogbo

Christopher Bankole Ndubisi Ogbogbo, commonly known as Prof. CBN Ogbogbo, was born on October 10, 1963, in Nigeria. He is a prominent lawyer and professor specializing in African history. Ogbogbo has held significant academic positions, including serving as the head of the Department of History at the University of Ibadan from 2008 to 2010 and currently as a Professor of African History there since October 2012.

In addition to his role at the University of Ibadan, he is also the Director of Research at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja. Prof. Ogbogbo is an accomplished scholar with over 60 publications in reputable academic journals and books, contributing extensively to the field of history. Ogbogbo's influence extends beyond academia; he served as the Emeritus President of the Historical Society of Nigeria from 2014 to 2018, where he played a crucial role in promoting historical scholarship in Nigeria.

His work often emphasizes the importance of history in understanding contemporary issues and fostering peace. Recently, he faced personal loss with the passing of his mother, Cecilia Alice Ogbogbo, on November 17, 2023, at the age of 93. The Society for Peace Studies and Practice expressed their condolences to him and his family during this difficult time.

Dr. Ayodele Adewale

Adewale attended the University of Lagos for his first degree in Political Science and Master of Science in Political Economy and International Relations. An Alumnus of the United Nations University's International Leadership Academy, and of Harvard University.

He provides consulting service for several international agencies, including the United Nations, European Union and the former organization of African Union. He also participated in the initial drafting of Millennium Plan for Africa (MAP) which later became the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) and was an inaugural member of the Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).

Oyebade holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sociology, specializing in Criminology from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). He has obtained various several certificates ranging from professional courses and workshops including the Senior Executive Course at NIPSS, Kuru, Jos, where he participated in Leadership, Policy and Strategic Course.

He is a recipient of several awards and commendations including the Nigerian Bar Association Award of Excellence given by the Inspector -General of police in Bangladesh. He also participated in Utstein (U4) Anti- Corruption Training Workshop at the Utstein Anti-Corruption Resource Centre.

Oyebade has been an advocate of Intelligence-led policing and community partnership, and exponent of training and re-training of the Police personnel as a tool for capacity building and development of the workforce to face the modern challenges of policing, especially in Nigeria's nascent democracy.

Dr. Garba holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the Ahamadu Bello University, Zaria and a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Kent, Canterbury and M.Phil in Political Economy from the University of Jos and a PhD in Political Economy . He is a senior lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Maiduguri. He has taught Political Economy, International Economic Relations and Comparative Politics at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.

He has a total of eighteen publications to his credit in both National and International Journals. Omeri is an administrator, communicator, mobilizer and strategist. He attended the University of Maiduguri where he obtained his first degree in Mass Communication. He also holds a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy at the University of Jos and a PhD in War and International Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna.

He is the Former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency in Nigeria currently the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Timbuktoo Media Solution Limited. Omeri is also a member of many professional associations like the Federation of Africa Public Relations Association (FARA), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).

IGP Solomon Arase (Rtd)

Solomon Arase was born on the 21st of June 1956. A political Science graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also holds an LLB degree from the University of Benin and LLM from Lagos state university and specializes in corporate management and finance law. He also holds a Masters degree in strategic studies from the University of Ibadan. He enlisted into the Nigerian Police in 1981 and has served in various departments of the force including Operations Investigation. He is currently the national legal adviser, Alumni Association of the National Defence College Nigeria, (AANDEC)

Chief Raymond Nkemdirim

Raymond Ihenacho is the former Director of Operations of the Department of State Security services and special assistant to the Director-General (DSS). He was born on the 14th of March 1961 and studied sociology in Imo State University. He also obtained a degree in law from the university of Abuja. He has participated in the Policy Strategy and Leadership Course of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Jos.

Nkemdirim began his early education in 1966 at Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, Ama-Achara, Umuahia. Due to the civil war, he moved to Sierra Leone and continued his primary education at the Military Primary School, Freetown. He attended Albert Academy, Freetown, Sierra Leone for his secondary education in 19731. In 1975, he returned to Nigeria and attended Boys High School, Awkunanaw, Enugu State, and later Emmanuel College, Owerri. He studied Sociology at Imo State University (now Abia State University) between 1982 and 1986 and obtained a law degree from the University of Abuja in 2002.

Nkemdirim rose to the position of State Director of Security (SDS) in several states, including Bayelsa, Oyo, Kwara, and Bauchi. He participated in the Policy, Strategy and Leadership Course of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Jos, Plateau State. He attended the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), Abuja, where he was awarded fellow of the Security Institute. He is also an alumnus of Harvard University, where he studied National and International Security.

Nkemdirim presented a paper on "Rethinking Intelligence Management And Security In Nigeria" for the Nigerian Defence College conference in February 2017. He advised that Nigeria should reform its intelligence management structure to address security threats. In November 2017, he delivered a lecture on "Credible Intelligence Gathering" at Isuikwuato Local Government at Nigerian Army Language School, 143 Battalion, Ovim, Abia State.

Chukwuemeka was born on the 24th of April, he obtained a Bsc (Hons) in applied microbiology from Anambra state university of technology. He also obtained a diploma in Bacteriology from the Obafemi Awolowo University teaching hospital IIe-Ife. He has attended many courses, some of which are; Ordnance Officers Basic course, Armament Ammunitions Technical Officers Course, Material Management and Management and Work Study Officers Course. He has held several command, staff and instructional appointments in various units at home and abroad.

Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman

Sani Kukasheka(Rtd), born on the 2nd of February 1965, mni FNIPR Fapra, is a public relations consultant based in Abuja. He owns the PR firm, Mahangi Communication Service. He is also a Consultant Director, Corporate Affairs and Information at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja. He is credited with the transformation of Public Relations Practice and Strategic Communication in the Nigerian Army. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and a Master of Arts in media, Peace and Conflict Studies from Bayero University, Kano and the United Nations Mandated University for Peace (UPEACE), San Jose, Costa Rica respectively. He has attended many courses, seminars and workshops both within and outside Nigeria. Usman joined the Nigerian Army as a recruit in 1983, He was commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1991, and He had two peacekeeping tours in Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Eritrea from 2002-2003 and 2005-2006 respectively. Usman was appointed acting spokesperson of the Nigerian Army on January 30, 2015, while a Colonel, and his appointment was confirmed in June 2017, months after he was promoted as a Brigadier-General on December 9, 2016.

Additionally, he has written many articles and delivered papers and seminars at strategic military institutions both in Nigeria and other countries on leadership, crisis and strategic communication. Until his retirement, he was the Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR) and Spokesman for the Nigerian Army.Sani Usman retired from the Nigerian Army after 36 years of active service.

Piet has taught, spoken, and advised on reconciliation, restorative justice, and truth in settings worldwide - in Israel, Palestine, Rwanda, Ireland, Fiji, and Canada. He is a wise and humble person who seems equally at home speaking a prophetic word to government leaders and telling stories of African elephants to my kids."

Piet Meiring is an ordained minister in the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa, and professor emeritus of Missiology (Science of Mission) at the University of Pretoria. He was since his ordination in 1967 involved in the struggle against apartheid, challenging his own denomination in this regard. He has written extensively on issues of Mission and Ecumenism in South Africa and Africa. In 1996 he was invited to join Archbishop Desmond Tutu on the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission, where he was inter alia tasked with the co-ordination of the faith communities' hearings.

Dr. Carl Stauffer was born and raised amidst the war in Vietnam. In 1975, his family fled Vietnam and moved to the Philippines just as the Marcos regime was beginning to crumble. After completing his university education in 1985, Stauffer worked in the Criminal Justice and Substance Abuse fields. In 1988, he was ordained to the ministry and joined an urban, inter-racial church plant and community development project in the inner-city of Richmond, Virginia. In 1991, Stauffer became the first Executive Director of the Capital Area Victim-Offender Mediation Program in Richmond. In 1994, Stauffer and his family moved to South Africa under the auspices of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), a faith-based international relief and development agency.

In South Africa, Stauffer worked with various transitional processes such as the Peace Accords, Community-Police Forums, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Local Community Development structures. From 2000 to 2009, Stauffer was appointed as the MCC Regional Peace Adviser for the Southern Africa region. His work has taken him to twenty African countries and ten other countries in the Caribbean, Middle East, Europe, and the Balkans.

Stauffer's academic interests focus on narratology, transitional justice, and post-war reconstruction and reconciliation. His research concentrates on the critique of transitional justice from a restorative frame, and the application of hybrid, parallel indigenous justice systems.

Prof. Duane Elmer

Duane H. Elmer (Ph.D, Michigan State U.) is director of the Ph.D. program in educational studies and is the G. W. Aldeen Chair of International Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. In addition to traveling and teaching in over 75 countries, he has provided cross-cultural training to Fortune 500 companies, relief and development agencies, mission organizations, churches, and educational institutions.

He has also conducted peace and reconciliation efforts in several countries. Recently, he led faculty development workshops at over 25 European and Middle Eastern schools on the theme of Teaching for Transformation. He has taught at Michigan State University and Wheaton College and Graduate School.

Chief Emeka Anyaoku

Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCVO, CFR, CON (born 18 January 1933) is a Nigerian politician of Igbo descent. Born in Obosi, Anyaoku was educated at Merchants of Light School, Oba and attended the University College of Ibadan, then a college of the University of London, from which he obtained an honours degree in Classics as a College Scholar.

He joined the Commonwealth Development Corporation in 1959 and became the third Commonwealth Secretary-General. He was appointed to the Foreign Service in April 1962 and became Personal Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for External Affairs within a month. Anyaoku joined in 1966 as Assistant Director of International Affairs. He was elected as Deputy Secretary-General in 1977. From 1983, he went back to his position as Deputy Secretary-General with the support of the new government in Nigeria.

At the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kuala Lumpur on October 24, 1989, Anyaoku was elected the third Commonwealth Secretary-General. He was re-elected at the 1993 CHOGM in Limassol for a second five-year term, beginning on April 1, 1995.Aside from his international career, Chief Anyaoku continues to fulfill the duties of his office as Ichie Adazie of Obosi, a traditional Ndichie chieftainship.
