LEADERSHIP COURSE ON POLICY FORMULATION, ANALYSIS AND ADVOCACY

·     In Pursuant to the partnership between the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and Peace Building Development Consult (PBDC), the two organisations are organising a three (3) day course on Public Policy Formulation, Analysis and Advocacy. This course aims to equip participants with practical skills in policymaking, analysis, and advocacy.

·       Effective policymaking is crucial for the success of any government or organization. Policies are often born out of societal issues or citizen proposals. However, even well-researched policies can go unnoticed if not effectively communicated to decision-makers. This training addresses the need for stakeholders to present their research findings in a clear and useful manner to enable policymakers to make effective decisions.

·       Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are pivotal in governance and development agendas. While often associated with NGOs, CSOs encompass a wide range of groups, including community associations, religious organizations, and political parties. Their roles extend to policy analysis, advocacy, and mobilizing marginalized communities for active participation in governance.

·       This training is essential for enhancing participants' capacity to analyze and contribute positively to public policy in Nigeria. By improving communication between civil society and government, it aims to reduce tensions and promote collaborative development efforts. Through practical case studies and exchanges, the course facilitates learning and skill-building in policy formulation, analysis, and advocacy.
