NATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY COURSE

The global peace and security landscape, and in Nigeria in particular, continues to pose a challenge for those charged with the country's defence. While significant progress and successes have been recorded, it is imperative to take a step back to upskill and refresh stakeholders’ capacity as regards the concepts of defence, peace and security; conflict management; operational issues and strategies; as well as existing and emerging threats.  To this end, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution and the Peace Building Development Consult in partnership with the Defence Headquarters are collaborating to deliver this course.

The primary objective of this Course is to provide comprehensive training to military personnel, law enforcement officers, government officials, and other stakeholders involved in defence, peace, and security. It would also present a networking and experience-sharing opportunity for all stakeholders. The course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and strategic thinking required to address the evolving security landscape in Nigeria. It is also hoped that a better understanding of the operational strategies as well as possible constraints of individual agencies would serve to foster improved synergy in defence and security operations in Nigeria.
