Objectives

1. Have in-depth knowledge of Nigeria’s foreign policy on the evolving issues of the ECOWAS sub-region.
2. Identify and comprehend the foreign policy direction and posture of the incumbent administration and how it touches on Nigeria’s national interest.   
3. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of intelligence gathering in international relations.
4. Assess the impact of coups and counter-coups in ECOWAS and Africa by extension.
5. Understand the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Nigeria and the rest of the world.
6. Assess the emerging issues in technology and its imperatives on diplomacy.
7. Understand the theory, practice, and etiquette of diplomacy.
8. Examine issues of cultural diplomacy and harnessing its benefits for the tourism sector.
9. Understand the impact of global wars and the socio-economic and political implications for Nigeria’s foreign policy. 
10. Interrogate the skills of negotiation in the management of conflicts in the ECOWAS sub-region.
11. Own diplomatic skills deployable at the personal and corporate levels of engagement.  

Who Should Attend

•    Candidates should have relevant qualifications and exposure to issues in international relations, diplomacy, intelligence and security. Serving security officers must have completed their agency’s staff course.
•    Participants must be proficient in both spoken and written English, the working language of the course
